UH provides the Certification Pursuit Program (CPP) to promote and reward employees who voluntarily choose to develop in their field through certifications or registries not required for their position.

  • All regular full-time and part-time employees of wholly owned UH entities who have successfully completed their initial employment period are eligible to participate in the program. Eligibility is extended to employees on an approved leave of absence.
  • If you received a corrective action in the prior year or earned a performance score below “satisfactory”, you are not eligible for the program. PRN, Enterprise Staffing Services, temporary residents, fellows, physicians, and UH executives also are not eligible to participate in the program.

Certifications and Registries

Certifications or registries must be obtained through a nationally recognized accredited or professional body. They must also require a component of continuing education and require the completion of an examination. Certifications and registries that are required for your current position do not qualify under the program.
